Roger was born October 3, 1950 as the second child of Andrew and Frances Greene in their second floor apartment at 3014 West Warren Boulevard, Chicago, Illinois 60612. He departed this life on May 24, 2020 at 4:06 PM at the Villa in Windsor Park extended care facility.
Roger attended Marshall Elementary School until the sixth grade and then graduated from Shoop Elementary School after the family moved to the far southside of Chicago. He attended and graduated from Christian Fenger High School in June, 1968. While at Fenger he was a member of the track team, the Key Club and various other activities. He attended and graduated from Roosevelt University in downtown Chicago with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology.
Roger went on to teach science and math initially at the Elementary School level. He continued his teaching career at the Academy of Our Lady (Longwood) High School. He finished his teaching career at
Olive Harvey College and left due to the progression of his Parkinson's Disease. He is remembered fondly by his students as a great teacher and mentor.
Roger was a sports enthusiast and could tell you a great deal about all the major sports and players on the team. He was an extensive reader and a history buff as well as a political critic.
He leaves behind a loving brother and sister-in-law, a nephew, two nieces, many cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.
